Dedicated professionals behind Asia Pain Solutions

Ong Soek Wen (Janice)

Director
Principal Physiotherapist

Janice’s path to becoming a physiotherapist began with a personal mission to help her grandfather find relief from knee and hip pain. That childhood spark has since evolved into a professional dedication to helping others reclaim a life of purpose, free from pain.

She began her formal clinical journey in 2010, graduating with a Diploma in Physiotherapy on scholarship. Seeking to deepen her expertise, she later earned a Bachelor of Health Science (Physical Therapy) from National Taiwan University. This academic path provided her with rare access to the latest medical insights from world-class professors and surgeons specializing in every medical discipline. Her education was further enriched by learning directly from pioneer practitioners and the head physiotherapist of the Olympics, gaining integrated treatment techniques and knowledge that go beyond standard textbooks.

During her tenure at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Janice gained significant experience in the medical management of patients facing acute and severe pain before transitioning her focus to specialized outpatient musculoskeletal care. This background in high-intensity clinical environments allows her to navigate complex medical cases with a thorough, multifaceted understanding of the patient’s recovery journey.

As the Director of Asia Pain Solutions, Janice leads the practice with the conviction that the body works as one interconnected unit and possesses an innate ability to heal itself. Guided by the understanding that physical structure directly affects function, her treatment philosophy emphasises supporting the body’s natural recovery rather than forcing it, while always adhering to the highest standards of professional medical care.

To broaden her personal perspective on wellness, Janice has a personal belief in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and has dedicated herself to self-study in the field. Her commitment to clinical excellence is further reflected in her pursuit of various external courses to refine her manual therapy techniques, including training with the Barral Institute, Upledger Institute, Chikly Institute, and The Osteopathic College of Ontario. Janice remains dedicated to reaching new heights in her expertise to support you in your journey toward a pain-free and thriving life.
